The 29th International Conference on Fracture and Structural Integrity (IGF29) marks a significant milestone in the long-standing tradition of a group that has shaped the landscape of Italian engineering since its foundation. For decades, the IGF has acted as a vital bridge between theoretical research and industrial necessity, consolidating a community dedicated to the science of material failure.

The core mission of IGF29 is to advance the fundamental understanding of Fracture Mechanics and Structural Integrity. In a global context where infrastructure aging and the demand for extreme performance intersect, the conference focuses on the physical and mathematical modeling of damage, from the micro-scale to large-scale structural components.

By honoring its historical roots while tackling modern engineering dilemmas, IGF29 remains the definitive venue for ensuring the resilience and durability of the systems that define our built environment.

The event will be held in Vicenza, Italy, and online (February 15-17, 2027).

Important information

1. Only one presentation per paying participant will be scheduled.

2. During the conference, the slot for each presentation will be 15 minutes: 10 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for the Q&As.

3. Authors of accepted abstracts for the IGF29 Conference are invited to submit a full paper (deadline: 31.03.2027). To provide maximum flexibility and visibility for your research, we offer two distinct publication pathways. Click HERE for more details.

4. A selection of the presented titles will be invited to submit extended versions to be published in Fracture and Structural Integrity.

By plane:

The airports nearest to Vicenza are Venice Marco Polo (75 km from Vicenza), Verona Valerio Catullo (60 km from Vicenza) and Treviso Antonio Canova (60 km from Vicenza); both airports are served by many frequent international flights. From both Venice Marco Polo and Verona airport, it's about an hour's transfer (by bus then train) to Vicenza; from Treviso airport, it’s about one hour and 30 minutes.
